The Editions
Six Ceremonies.
One Institution.
United Kingdom
Urban Music Awards UK
The original. Launched in London in 2003, the UK edition set the standard for urban music recognition worldwide. From the Hammersmith Palais stage, the UMA established itself as the institution that would carry urban culture to every continent.
North America
Urban Music Awards USA
Launched on 7 July 2007, hosted by Foxy Brown and Spragga Benz. The USA edition made an immediate statement — Boyz II Men received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the inaugural ceremony, cementing UMA's credibility on the world's biggest music stage.
Caribbean
Caribbean Urban Music Awards
Celebrating the islands that changed music forever. Launched in 2008, the Caribbean UMA honours the global influence of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, and Caribbean sonic culture — sounds that have shaped every corner of the world.
Asia
Asia Urban Music Awards
Launched in 2010 to celebrate the rising force of urban music culture across Asia — from K-pop and J-pop to C-pop, Indian urban, and Southeast Asian electronic scenes. The Asia UMA recognises a continent redefining the sound of global culture.
South America
Urban Music Awards South America
Launched in 2014 to recognise the unstoppable influence of South American urban music. From Reggaeton to Baile Funk, Cumbia to Latin Trap — South American sounds have conquered every playlist on the planet.
Africa
Urban Music Awards Africa
Launched in 2025 at Heartfelt Arena in Pretoria, South Africa. The Africa edition arrived at the peak of the continent's cultural moment — Amapiano, Afrobeats, Hip Hop, R&B, Gospel, and Dance are among the most listened-to genres in the world, and UMA Africa exists to honour that excellence.
